Today, I had the opportunity to present the telecommunication specialization to the newbies who are subscribing to the third year of our school. As you may know, third-year students have to choose between different specializations, and I was asked by my professors to represent the telecommunication specialization.
I was a bit nervous at first, but I quickly realized that the newbies were very interested in what I had to say. I started by giving them a general overview of the telecommunication industry, and then I talked about the different sub-fields of telecommunications, such as wireless communication, optical communication, and networking. I also talked about the different career opportunities that are available to telecommunication graduates.
To make my presentation more engaging, I used a lot of visuals and examples. I showed them pictures of different types of telecommunications equipment, such as cell towers and fiber optic cables. I also told them stories about my own experiences in the telecommunications course.
At the end of my presentation, I answered questions from the newbies. They asked me about the different types of telecommunications jobs that are available, the educational requirements for these jobs, and the salary prospects.
I was really impressed with the level of interest and engagement that the newbies showed during my presentation. It was clear to me that the majority of them were very excited about the possibility of studying telecommunications in their last 3 years of high school.
What I learned
I learned a lot from this experience, including:
- The importance of planning and preparation. I spent a lot of time researching the topic and developing my presentation, which paid off in the end.
- The importance of visuals. Using visuals in my presentation helped to illustrate my points and make my presentation more engaging.
- The importance of practice. I practiced my delivery several times before the presentation, which helped me to feel more confident and prepared.
- The importance of feedback. Asking my friends and classmates for feedback was very helpful, and it helped me to improve my presentation.
